Back in 2007 I worked extensively with a rising British band named Battle. I’d developed a great working relationship with Jason, Jamie, Tim and Oli in the band over a few years and this turned out to be the start of my last assignment with them.
Over the course of a weekend I was embedded with the band as they travelled to both Leeds and Reading Festivals to play on one of the stages that was taken over and programmed by their label Transgressive Records and then on to their first date of what none of us at the time didn’t know would be their last UK tour. I documented what life on the road was like for a modern touring band with both photography and writing in an article for Play, a national publication I regularly worked with that sadly folded before the piece was published. I’ll be reposting that here shortly. These are my shots detailing their journey from north east London, to Leeds Festival and then back again, all on the same day.
